After months of speculation, we finally learned who will be playing Deadpool's serious "side-kick". Yesterday, it was revealed that Josh Brolin will tackle the time-traveling X-Men character but it stirred up some questions among fans. Josh Brolin will also be playing the galactic Avengers villain, Thanos, in Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel which are both filming right now for the next year.
Not only will he be busy (meaning Deadpool 2 probably won't release for a while) but it also causes confusion among audience members who don't realize Deadpool isn't connected to the MCU. Maybe it won't matter since Thanos is a big purple alien made in CG but that didn't stop Ryan Reynolds from poking fun at it.
To officially confirm the reports of Brolin being cast, Reynolds made a tweet showing Brolin's face in a cappuccino and made a funny caption referencing two universes that aren't connected at all.
The fuck, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch. pic.twitter.com/AQCRp1aWKg

Brolin starred in the gritty 2015 movie Sicario and Reynolds co-starred in the 90s teen comedy Sabrina the Teenage Witch, neither of which are related to each other. Reynolds is basically saying there's no connection between the MCU and the X-Men universe so don't worry about Brolin's role in Infinity War.
Deadpool 2 has no set release date yet but it seems an announcement could be coming sooner rather than later!
