“Jackass” star Ryan Dunn was killed early Monday morning in Philadelphia. The 34-year-old MTV icon was driving his 2007 Porsche when it went off the road and crashed into the woods, causing it to catch fire. A passenger, whose identity is unknown at this time, was also killed according to West Goshen Township police department.
Johnny Knoxville, a longtime friend and fellow stuntman, tweeted, “Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy.”
President of MTV Networks Music/Films Group Van Toffler released this statement saying, “We are devastated by the tragic loss of Ryan Dunn–a beloved member of the MTV family for more than a decade, the Jackass brotherhood will never be the same.”
For all who watched and grew up with MTV’s “Jackass,” Ryan Dunn made you laugh and, more often than not, question the drive that one needs to do these crazy stunts. Dunn will be remembered for his skit in “Jackass” where he shoved a toy car up his butt and proceeded to get X-rays from a doctor. He might have pushed that toy car up his ass, but he also pushed his way into a young generation’s heart. Dunn will be missed. May he rest in peace.
