S.J. Clarkson set to direct Marvel’s Defenders on Netflix

Marvel has announced that S.J. Clarkson will direct the first two episodes of The Defenders on Netflix as well as serve as Executive Producer on the first episode. She has previously worked on Orange is the new black as well as the directing the first two Jessica Jones episodes.

According to the announcement, The Defenders will see Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist come together as "the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together." 

“S.J.'s take on the material is outstanding.  We loved her work on Marvel’s Jessica Jonesand couldn’t think of a more talented and accomplished person to helm the first two episodes of Marvel’s The Defenders,” said Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb in the release.

Earlier this month at New York City Comic Con, Marvel announced that Ms. Sigourney Weaver would be the villain in the series, but did not elaborate of course on who she would be playing. Iron Fist is set to be the next series debuting on March 17th, 2017 after Luke Cage just finished back on September 29th. 

Marvel's The Defenders is set to release later in 2017 with no exact date yet.
