Back in November, before Saints Row: The Third was even released, we heard from THQ's Danny Bilson that Saints Row 4 was going to be "wilder".
The Saints Row franchise has been one of the few bright spots for publisher THQ which has recently gone through some tumultuous times. In a recent report, the publisher confirmed that the Saints Row franchise has sold over 11 million units worldwide, with Saints Row: The Third selling 4.25 million copies. With those kind of numbers, it's sort of a given that a Saints Row 4 would already be in the works.
What might come as a surprise, however, is that Saints Row 4 is currently in development for this current generation of consoles. According to the LinkedIn profile for Volition's David Payne, the company is already working on Saints Row 4 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. This might come as a surprise, especially given the amount of talk that has surrounded next-gen consoles.
In case you were wondering, it wasn't referring to the recently announced Saints Row: The Third – Enter the Dominatrix expansion. That was listed separately on his profile as well.
Payne has since removed the Saints Row 4 reference from his profile, but not before TheSixthAxis snagged a screenshot.
