Saints Row: The Third free DLC adds Cheap Ass Gamer’s CheapyD

How could Saints Row: The Third get a little more absurd?  By adding CheapyD.  And no, that isn't a fictional character created for the game.  CheapyD is the founder of popular gaming-deals site CheapAssGamer.com and one of the most well-known names in the gaming industry.

THQ announced that CheapyD is set to join the absurd cast of Saints Row: The Third.  After bringing in CheapyD for a second recording session and some quick Q&A, THQ has decided to turn him into a FREE downloadable homie for everyone to enjoy starting on January 17th.

THQ noted that in order to get CheapyD, you need to have already unlocked Shaundi's Ex-boyfriend's apartment which comes after the assault on the armory.  In addition you will also have to follow the instructions provided below for your platform of choice.

  • For Xbox 360 Users: You will need to either purchase the Genkibowl VII DLC Pack (560 MS Points), or download the FREE Genkibowl VII Viewer Pack. CheapyD is included with either of those downloads.
  • For PS3 Users: There will be a separate downloadable FREE DLC Pack, called the CheapyD Pack. Download and enjoy.
  • For Steam Users: We will be releasing a compatibility patch on January 17th for the Genkibowl VII DLC, which will be automatically downloaded for you. CheapyD is part of these patch files.
  • For OnLive Users: Similar to Steam above, CheapyD will be included in a compatability patch, which will be automatically downloaded for you.
