Saints Row: The Third Remastered coming to consoles and PC next month

Return to Steelport once more

Deep Silver has unveiled a remaster for one of their most popular open-world action games from last-gen with Saints Row: The Third Remastered. The updated remaster is inbound for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month, on May 22nd. Watch the trailer here!

The Saints Row franchise originally started out as a grounded competitor to the juggernaut GTA franchise over a decade ago. But after middling early titles, series developer Volition found the winning formula by letting go of realism and going all out mayhem with Saints Row The Third. The game became a major hit on the PS3 & Xbox 360 and created the groundwork for the series to get two more sequels.

The Full Package, Remastered – With enhanced graphics, improved lighting, reworked environments, and visual effects, Steelport and The Third Street Saints have never looked so good. City of Sin – Disrupt and dismantle the Syndicate stranglehold on weapons, cybercrime, and criminal rackets. Discover the secrets of Steelport, where there is action on every street corner, for better or, more likely, worse. Weapons of Crass Destruction – It’s one thing to defeat your enemies. It’s another to humiliate them. Hover jets, human cannonball cars and outrageous melee weapons are all part of the fun.

But while those later entries came out on current-gen systems, Saints Row The Third remained shackled to obsolete consoles. This is soon going to change with Saints Row: The Third Remastered, however. Handled by Spearasoft, the remaster is launching on May 22nd. Just the right time for gamers who want to use their quarantine time to play games.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the PC version being the next Epic Games Store exclusive. At an asking price of $39.99 across all platforms, the remaster should be a nice option for an otherwise empty May.
