Salad dressing stops Darth Vader from robbing Florida store

With Star Wars at an all time high thanks to The Force Awakens, we have been hearing quite a bit about Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren, but not much about Darth Vader (except a glimpse). What has Vader been up to now that the spotlight is elsewhere? It looks like he has fallen on hard times.

A 32-year old Florida man named Jacob Jeremy Mercer decided that the limelight had to return to Vader, so, he dressed up in his best Darth Vader costume and attempted to rob a convenience store. Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned.

According to the police report, Mercer/Vader pulled out a pistol and demanded money from the store clerk. Weilding nothing but a jar of blue cheese salad dressing, the clerk summoned the powers of the Force and sent the blue cheese dressing straight into Mercer's face.

Darth Vader's helmet was not intended to protect against blue cheese salad dressing. The helmet crunched agianst Mercer's face, cutting him. In pain, he fled from the scene of the crime, only to be detained by police at a nearby residence.

The would be Vader has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon.
