Sam Fisher joins Rainbow Six Siege but still can’t get a new game

Splinter Cell protagonist Sam Fisher hasn’t had a new video game since 2013 but he’s still somehow remained relevant. Ubisoft continues to put the stealth legend into every franchise they can work him into from Ghost Recon to Rainbow Six Siege.

Ubisoft revealed in a brief teaser today that an older Sam Fisher is joining Rainbow Six Siege as a new operator. It’s unclear what his abilities will be but it seems it may have something to do with night-vision, perhaps he can shut off power to rooms and have an advantage? Another character named Zero will also join the popular competitive shooter.

Details are scarce but a full reveal for the Operation Shadow Legacy update is slated for August 16th at 2PM EDT. You can watch the full reveal during the Rainbow Six Siege NA-Mini Major Finals on twitch.tv/rainbow6.

Will Ubisoft ever give us a new Splinter Cell game? We have no idea. We’ve been reassured the studio hasn’t forgotten the franchise, which remains evident by putting Sam Fisher in other games, but the lack of a new game is annoying to many.

Come back to GameZone on August 16th shortly after the Twitch reveal for all the details on Sam Fisher’s Rainbow Six debut.
