Scrolls players can gift free copy to friends

Developer Mojang is showing players of its Scrolls game some holiday spirit.

Anyone who currently owns the strategy collectible-card game for PC or Mac can send a copy to a friend or family member for free.

Gifting the game is easy: Players simply log in to their Mojang account, click "Send to a friend," and then enter the recipient's email address.

"Your chum will receive a code in the mail, along with some simple instructions on how to redeem it," reads a post on the Scrolls website. "It hasn’t even got to be a 'friend' you send the code to: enemies, family members, and animals are all allowed to play, so long as they can follow the simple instructions listed in the mail. Send and be merry!"

All gifted codes must be redeemed by Jan. 31, 2014.

Mojang just rolled out a small update for Scrolls — patch 0.112.1. It introduces bug fixes and several gameplay chagnes.
