SDCC 2014: First look at Halo: Nightfall

As promised, Microsoft and 343 Industries gave us our first look at Halo: Nightfall, the upcoming live-action digital series from 343 Industires and Scott Free Productions. Have a look-see below.

Pretty damn awesome, right?

Halo: Nightfall was first revealed during Microsoft's E3 press conference back in June. Included with the Halo: The Master Chief Collection releasing later this year, the episodic series offers the origin story of Agent Locke who will play a "key role" in the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians. Here's Microsoft's official teaser:

Halo: Nightfall introduces a pivotal new character, Jameson Locke, a legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Earth’s most powerful and secretive military branch. When he and his team are caught in a horrific biological attack, they unravel a plot that draws them to an ancient, hellish artifact, where they will be forced to fight for their survival, question everything, and ultimately choose between their loyalties and their lives.

During the Q&A portion of the panel, Mike Colter, the actor portraying Locke, couldn't confirm whether his character is a friend or foe of Master Chief.
