SDCC 2015: Toy Soldiers: War Chest getting Cobra Commander, Assassin’s Creed factions

Signal Studios bolstering playable lineup with big name franchises

Signal Studios has announced at San Diego Comic Con 2015, that two more sets of playable characters will be joining the Hall of Fame lineup in the upcoming Tower Defense game, Toy Soldiers: War Chest.  Along side the G.I. Joe and He-Man: Masters of the Universe toy sets that were previously announced, Cobra Commander and an Assassin's Creed faction led by the infamous Ezio Auditore will also be playable in the game.

Cobra Commander's presence makes a ton of sense considering G.I. Joe's inclusion, which is sure to make older fans re-create the classic conflict.  Assassin's Creed's inclusion is clearly the doing of publisher, Ubisoft, and will feature an empahsis on melee combat, similar to He-Man.  With this announcement, that brings the faction count in Toy Soldiers: War Chest to a grand total of 8, including the sets being independently developed by Signal Studios.

These new factions unfortunately will not come standard, as the game comes in several different varieties.  To get all eight armies, you will have to buy the Hall of Fame edition which will run for $29.99.  The standard version of the game will run at $15.99, but players can purchase Hall of Fame toy sets independently for $4.99 or as a bundle for $15.99.

Toy Soldiers: War Chest is due to arrive on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC some time this summer, though no release date has been given.
