The 'Aquaman' screenplay finds new life with its former writer, 'Gangster Squad' scribe, Will Beall.
The development of the upcoming 'Aquaman' movie has been in crisis mode for a while now. From casting the lead role with someone who would avoid the most derision, to landing an appropriate director, and even finding someone to pen the script who would know how best to the character justice. It seems that fires are being put out left and right and now, the project has locked its official writer with 'Gangster Squad's' Will Beall.
Beall had been a part of 'Aquaman's' conception towards the beginning. Originally, there were several different writers developing multiple scripts. When director James Wan took over to direct the project, Beall stepped away to write the 'Training Day' television pilot. Now that Wan has narrowed down the structure of how the overall story will go, he was brought back to pen the final script before the film goes into production.
The movie stars Jason Mamoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Aquawoman/Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko.
