SDCC 2016 Roundup: Marvel Studios showcases their lineup for the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel Studios' Hall H panel showcased a huge lineup for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This year's San Diego Comic Con International may have been one of the most anticipated in years. Now that both Marvel and DC, as well as the surrounding studios, have a litany of projects and movies just over the horizon, the panels at Saturday's Hall H presentation were alive with hype and media buzz.

One of the lead contendors was the Marvel Studios panel. With news and updates on movies to fill the ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, they gave us all the trailers, footage, and reveals we'll need for the forseeable future. Here's a complete breakdown of Marvel Studios' Comic Con panel:

Black Panther (February 16, 2018)

The main topic of discussion for 'Black Panther' mostly involved the new cast list. There had been a few important roles that had gone unfilled, and a few actors whose roles were yet to be revealed. Now, the majority of the cast has been rounded out, allowing for more headway as to speculating the plot.

Captain Marvel (March 8, 2019)

The big news surrounding the first female driven superhero epic was casting the lead role of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. The honor was officially confirmed to go to Brie Larsen (Kong: Skull Island).

Doctor Strange (November 4, 2016)

A second theatrical trailer for the mystical epic dropped, which gave us a lot more intel than the first trailer. This time, we see way more of how magic will be represented in the MCU, and they even managed to find time for a few decent jokes.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (May 5, 2017)

Director James Gunn made sure that, despite not having a full trailer to present, there was at least enough content regarding the sequel to the 2014 smash hit for fans to sink their teeth into. The panel revealed plot points, the plans for a new Disneyland attraction, and the much speculated identity of Starlord's father!

Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7, 2017)

One of the most anticipated movies on the dockett, the 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' event presented fans with the remainder of the cast of Midtown High teens, some never before seen footage, as well as concept art that gave fans the first glimpse of Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture.

Thor: Ragnarok (November 3, 2017)

Much to the confusion of fans, the 'Thor: Ragnarok' update included an oddly 80's retro logo for the movie. Fortunately, the panel also revealed what fans have been clamoring for since the news that Hulk would be joining Thor on his next adventure: a set of armor identical to that which he wore in the 'Planet Hulk' comic storyline.
