SDCC 2017: 20th Century Fox is officially developing a Doctor Doom movie

Nobody asked for this...

20th Century Fox is officially developing a film based on the Fantastic Four villain, Doctor Doom.

So far, the San Diego Comic Con has been full of surprises. While we thought there may not be anymore today considering the last of the Day One panels are coming to an end, as it turns out, there was a bit more news we couldn't have anticipated.

Noah Hawley, creator of FX's Legion, has been plugged to direct a movie based on the Fantastic Four's classic arch-nemesis, Doctor Doom. This comes as a bit of a shock considering the studio is notorious for having created the 2015 trainwreck known as the 'Fantastic Four' reboot, having only been created for the purpose of hanging onto the rights before Disney could scoop them up once they expired. Hawley was quoted as saying no more than:

“I’ll just say two words: the first one is Doctor…and the next one is Doom.”

There were no details released other than the announcement, so its unclear as to whether or not this movie will focus on the new version of the F4, or if they will be rebooting the franchise yet again. Check back for more details as they come to light.
