SDCC 2017: Brand new Justice League trailer shows off Steppenwolf and more

Just a nice Superman tease, no big spoilers.

DC and Warner Bros. have been building up to a Justice League movie for quite some time. In 2013's Man of Steel the hinted at a shared universe by having some references to Bruce Wayne's company, Wayne Enterprises, and later that summer it was revealed we'd be getting a Batman vs. Superman film. That film came and went and while it wasn't a critical darling, it laid the ground work for the rest of the DC movie universe which would star Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash, and Aquaman.

While more will join the universe as time goes on with the likes of Shazam and Green Lantern, Warner Bros is preparing to release Justice League later this year. Fans are hoping it will turn the tides of the DCEU and be a great success on a critical level because currently (outside of Wonder Woman), their cinematic universe is in a bit of turmoil.

The film has had some pretty solid trailers so far depicting changes in tone but it's unclear if Justice League will have a well-constructed plot. Director of The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, Joss Whedon, has stepped in to finish reshoots and editing the film together in place of director Zack Snyder due to a family tragedy. The film could end up as two different movies edited together into one or it could mesh together incredibly well.

Today at the WB panel in Hall-H at San Diego Comic-Con, we got our first look at what is presumably Joss Whedon's cut of the film. We get a decent look at Steppenwolf, a tease at the plot via voice over, lots of Parademons, and… a tease of Superman. Don't worry, he's not shown but it's very obvious who Alfred is talking to at the end of the trailer.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17th, 2017.
