Earlier tonight at Comic-Con, Marvel dropped a bomb on all of us where they gave us a bunch of little details about the upcoming Captain Marvel film. While it's still quite a ways off and they're still probably casting and putting the finishing touches on the script, Marvel has some nice tidbits to share.
First off, Captain Marvel will not be in "modern" day. It'll be set in the early 90s and Samuel L. Jackson will show up as Nick Fury but this time… he'll have both of his eyes! It's unclear if we'll see how he lost his eye or if that's something that'll remain untouched for now, though. Additionally, Marvel will be introducing the iconic alien race of villains to the movie universe, the Skrulls!
Not much else is known outside of these details but we'll see and hear about a lot more at next year's Comic-Con.
