Todd McFarlane has announced that there will be a big reveal about the 'Spawn' reboot at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con.
Spawn is one of those dark, violent, all around badass characters that stands the test of time. With the 20th anniversary of the original movie upon us, the time is right to start talking reboot. For the last year, we've all been in anticipation of what the announced reboot will entail, especially since acclaimed creator of the 'Spawn' comics is attached to produce and pen the script.
Yesterday, McFarlane took to Facebook Live to give us an update on the script:
According to him, the first official draft for the script has been completed as of this February. He plans to get the final product down to a ballpark figure of 120 pages from his current 136 page script. Last year, his first rough draft was clocking in at about 180+ pages, so he's working to cut it down to a solid two hour film. He says there has already been about 14 offers from studios looking to buy the script, which means production could start as early as late this year, assuming a deal is reached. He plans to have an official announcement about the production at this year's San Diego Comic Con, so stick with us to find out what he has in store for the legion of patient fans out there.
