A month after the reveal of the release date, Sea of Thieves is on its way to its Closed Beta. Starting on January 24th, Sea of Thieves will allow those who pre-ordered the game, as well as those who joined the Insider Program, to get a taste of pirate life.
The Closed Beta will not give players access to the full game, but a specific experience that offers plenty of features. If you are one of the lucky ones who will be able to participate in the beta, you will find the game Xbox or Windows Store library 24 hours before the Closed Beta begins, so you can download and install the game (if you digitally pre-ordered/joined the Insider Program).
If you did not pre-order the game digitally, you’ll need to redeem the code for the Black Dog cosmetic pack in the store.
The beta will not be covered by an NDA, which means all content in the Closed Beta can be streamed, captured, clipped or screenshot. The devs ask that you tag the content “Sea of Thieves” so they can see it as well.
The Closed Beta will be accessible between January 24th and January 29th. Sea of Thieves releases on Xbox One and PC on March 20th, 2017.
