It’s been a long time coming, but Sea of Thieves has launched its long-awaited closed beta, allowing players all over the world to take to the high seas for all manner of hijinx. With the game being the Xbox One’s biggest First-Party game of the new year, you might say that there are equal parts hype and pressure for this game to be successful.
The early goings of the Closed Beta have been pretty painless, outside of some users reporting that they were getting a “too early” error message and could not access the game. Fortunately, Rare says they seem to have resolved most of the issues.
If you are one of the unlucky ones who has not yet been able to sail the high seas, there is still a possibility for you to get in. Here are the three ways that you can do it.
It’s worth noting that if you pre-ordered Sea of Thieves digitally on either Xbox Live or the Windows 10 Store, the Closed Beta should have appeared automatically under the Xbox Insider Hub under the “Insider Content” panel. If you pre-ordered the game through alternative means, such as Amazon or Best Buy, you’ll have to redeem a code for the Black Dog cosmetic pack. Only then, will you find the game in your Insider Hub.
Sea of Thieves’ closed beta runs from today, January 24th through Monday, January 29th, so don’t wait to get sailing.
