Season 1 of the 2015 StarCraft 2 ladder kicks off with new maps

Season 1 of the 2015 StarCraft 2 ladder has begun! It's out with the old and in with the new, 2014's final milestones have been awarded, bonus pools and standings have been reset — it's time to get back to business.

If you took part in the previous season and were placed in a league, you only need to play one placement match to get started. Before you get started in Season 1, make sure to use your free name change (if you want). Name changes don't stack, so, you can only have one free name change at any given time).

It wouldn't be a new season without new maps, right? Blizzard has removed four maps and replaced them with some Blizzard created maps and some maps created by top community members. Here's what they removed and what the Season 1 map pool looks like:

Removed 1v1 maps:

  • King Sejong Station
  • Foxtrot Labs
  • Merry go round
  • Nimbus

2015 Season 1 – 1v1 maps:

  • Overgrowth LE
  • Catallena LE
  • Expedition Lost
  • Secret Spring
  • Vaani Research Station
  • Inferno Pools
  • Deadwing LE

Check out some of the maps in detail on Battle.net.

How did you do last Season?
