Second Installment of NIER Comic Released on Game’s Official Website

Square Enix has released the second installment of the three-part comic book
based on NIER, the mysterious and intriguing upcoming action-RPG that has been
shrouded in mystery since its announcement last year. Developed in conjunction
with DC Comics’ WildStorm Studios, the NIER comic provides a sneak peek for
gamers into the dark mythology behind NIER. Both the first and second part of
the comic are now available as a free download from the game’s official website
at http://na.niergame.com/.

In the second edition of the comic book, Nier’s companion Kaine tells her own
story to follow-up the story told by Grimoire Weiss in the first comic. Kaine
tells of fighting off dozens of shades to save a child lost in an abandoned
village. How this tale fits into the overall mythology of NIER is up to gamers
to decide.

The final installment of the NIER comic book, which will continue to unveil
the mysterious underpinnings of the game’s story and setting, will be released
next week.

NIER is set to release on April 27 for PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
