Shinichi Kameoka, the legend behind the art of Secret of Mana and the greater Mana series, is finally returning to console development. Recently in 2017, he worked on a mobile JRPG, Egglia: The Legend of Redcap with his independent studio Brownies. But it appears the console scene will be seeing his return soon.
In a group interview with 4Gamer, Kameoka stated that in 2018, he would be returning to familiar console title after a long time away. He also said that information about it will likely be released by the end of the year.
Although it seems clear that the title will be a Mana game, he also said it might be something unexpected, but as more information is revealed, check back at GameZone for the latest details. Lastly, he also mentioned that Egglia: The Legend of Redcap will also be getting continued support through multiple updates and events throughout 2018.
In related news, Secret of Mana is getting a 3D remake on PlayStation 4. The game will launch digitally for the most part but will have a very limited physical release in the US.
