Square Enix made a very surprising announcement today on their blog. The classic SNES RPG, Secret of Mana is getting a 3D remake for PS4, PSVita and PC on February 15, 2018.
This remake of Secret of Mana comes with a new visual art style, voiced characters, and a freshly recorded soundtrack. They also announced that there will be new gameplay changes, but have held off on the details.
For those who have never had the pleasure of playing it, Secret of Mana was an action-RPG set in a world where mana is an energy source mined out of the earth. This civilization mined this mana and created a warship, which angered the gods. A war broke out that almost destroyed all of the mana in the world. The story we play is essentially history repeating itself.
The original Secret of Mana released in 1993 and stands with some of the greats, such as Chrono Trigger and Earthbound. We don't have to wait long to relive it either, this new remake is due out February 15, 2018. On PlayStation4, PSVita and PC.
