See BioShock, Dark Souls, more demade as PlayStation 1 classics

It’s more than a touch ironic that while Sony, Microsoft and every developer under the sun are clamoring for the highest frame rates, clock speeds and pixel counts the universe has ever seen, gamers are actively cramming new-age classics into the retro mold of the original PlayStation.

This NeoGAF thread is chock-full of aptly named PlayStation Demasters, fan-made renditions of today’s hits clad in the style of the dawn of disc-based gaming. Dark Souls, BioShock and The Last of Us are the more prominent of the bunch, and arguably some of the best-drawn, but there’s a massive archive to dig through spanning Kingdom Hearts to latter Doom installments.
