Sega accelerates with Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

Today Sega announced Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, a racing game coming from developer Sumo Digital.

In the upcoming game, players drive vehicles that can transform between cars, planes, and boats according to the terrain. All-Stars Racing Transformed incorporates the stunts of 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing but introduces new mechanics, such as a power-up meter that charges faster the more stylishly you race and the ability to block oncoming projectiles.

Characters include Golden Axe's Gilius Thunderhead and Skies Of Arcadia protagonist Vyse.

Sumo Digital has worked on a number of sports and racing titles, including F1 2011 and Split/Second.
