Sega files trademark for Flick of the Dead

Sega has filed a trademark for "Flick of the Dead," possibly a touch-based version of The House of the Dead for mobile devices.

The publisher's light gun/rail shooter series began in 1997 with the first The House of the Dead game for arcades and later Sega Saturn and PC. Numerous sequels and spin-off games have followed, including the humorous The Typing of the Dead and The House of the Dead: Overkill, which more recently came to PlayStation 3 as an Extended Cut.

Last month Sony announced that The House of the Dead 4 would arrive on PSN. It's slated for an April 17 release.
