SEGA SHIPS IRON PHOENIX FOR XBOX
New 16-Player Brawler Breaks All Fighting Game Boundaries
SAN FRANCISCO (March 23, 2005) SEGA®
of America, Inc. today announced the availability of Iron Phoenix exclusively on
the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft. This Xbox™ Live enabled game mixes
melee combat with arena-style death matches to create a fast-paced contest of
wills and reflexes.
In ancient China, a giant meteor
possessing mystical properties crashes to the ground. A blacksmith happens upon
it and uses the meteorite to forge nine weapons of power. The weapons, when
combined, unleash a terrible power. In the solo campaign mode, the player’s task
is to retrieve all the weapons and safely seal them away forever.
The core of the game is found on
Xbox Live, where up to 16 combatants can battle against each other, all at the
same time. Players can compete in free-for-alls, team battles, and clan wars.
The game allows players to specialize in a broad range of weaponry, run on
walls, cooperate in team battles, and master devastating chain combos. Large,
detailed environments ensure that every stage offers distinct challenges and
require different techniques in order to successfully compete.
Iron Phoenix is rated ‘T’ for ‘Teen’
and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $49.95.
