Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice dives deep in Gameplay Overview Trailer

Become the Wolf among men

A new gameplay trailer for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out in which players can get a nice overview over the upcoming shinobi-action game’s mechanics, story and features. Check it out!

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is now in its final spurt towards its imminent release later this week and after the launch trailer from last week, we now get a much longer gameplay overview trailer. Here, we get a much more detailed look at the setting, story and gameplay mechanics than ever before.

Since Sekiro is an unusual title from FromSoftware, in that it puts heavy emphasize on a coherent traditional story with a single protagonist, many fans are eagerly looking towards that very aspect. Since the unveiling of the game, we knew that the setting of Sekiro was in war-ridden feudal japan with a nice dose of supernatural elements. But today’s trailer sets up the personal story of the game’s main character for the first time in great detail. Needless to say, if you plan on going in absolutely blind, we advise to steer clear from this trailer. All others can enjoy a great overview of what’s to come this Friday.

The trailer immediately goes into the origin story of the Wolf, Sekiro’s protagonist. As an orphaned child during the war-ravaged Sengoku-period of Japan, a mysterious samurai called Owl takes us under his wings and trains us into a formidable shinobi whose duty is to serve and protect a young master, The Divine Heir. After the hostile Ashina Clan abducts our young master and cuts off our arm, it’s our main goal to rescue him. But this time, the Wolf has the help of a mysterious mechanical arm which allows all kinds nifty techniques. Traversing quickly on rooftops or trees with a grappling hook, setting enemies on fire with a built-in cannon and much more. As an action-RPG, players will be able to unlock more unique features and skills throughout the game which should make for plenty tactical options on the battlefield.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice comes out this Friday, March 22nd for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
