Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice gets Story Trailer & PC Specs unveiled

FromSoftware has released a sweet CG Story trailer for their newest action-slasher Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. With the game’s release on March 22nd for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, PC gamers now also know what kind of hardware they’ll need to run the game.

Saying that Sekiro has some heavy boots to fill would be an understatement. As the first non-Souls-like game by the now-legendary Japanese studio FromSoftware, anticipation could not be any higher. Fans of the Souls games are both excited at what FromSoftware has been cooking up but also simply not certain how Sekiro will fare compared the studios previous efforts.

Expecting FromSoftware to achieve the insane success of their Souls games in terms of mindshare and influence on the gaming industry as a whole would be unfair. No one, not even the developer themselves could have imagined how influential Dark Souls could have become after all. It brought back brutal difficulty to gaming and introduced a revolutionary multiplayer component. Terms like “Git gud” or “the Dark Souls of XY” have ingrained themselves into the collective minds of gamers.

From what we’ve seen so far, Sekiro is on track to become something special in its own right. Radical changes from the Souls formula, like the exclusion of multiplayer in its entirety and the focus on a cohesive focused narrative altogether with a single protagonist are standout differentiations.

Still, the satisfyingly impactful and vicious melee combat FromSoftware has perfected, is clearly visible. Which is a great thing as very few melee-combat focused games have even reached the quality by FromSoftware.

PC gamers can now also check out whether their rigs are up for the task of demon-plagued feudal Japan with the announcement of the official system requirements. They’re pretty modest, so no one should be left in the dust of experiencing the possible next stroke of genius by Hidetaka Miyazaki.
