Self-titled shaRkPG Maneater is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One

Tripwire Interactive’s humorous action-RPG that lets you play as a vicious shark on a quest for revenge is out today. Gamers who are out for human flesh can live out their weird fantasies right now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Watch the launch trailer in all its stupid glory here!

Ever watched Steven Spielberg’s iconic Jaws movie and thought to yourself “Hey, I think the shark is right in killing all those people!”. No? Well, then you are an actually sane person. Congratulations! But if for any other reason you always found the intimidating hunter of the high seas to be a perfect fit to live out your weird fantasies, here’s your chance.

Become a Maneater!

Experience the ultimate power fantasy as the apex predator of the seas – a giant Shark! Terrorize the coastal waterways. Tear swimmers and divers limb from limb, give the humans a reason to fear you!

Maneater is a Single-Player Action RPG, set in the Gulf Coast’s unforgiving waters. Fight to survive in the open ocean, swamps and rivers with danger lurking at every depth. Your only tools are your wits, your jaws, and an uncanny ability to evolve as you feed.

Eat. Explore. Evolve!

Maneater follows the footsteps of comedic action games of the likes of Goat Simulator but instead of going for total absurdity, here you can find a more “proper” traditional game, all with character & story progression and RPG elements to boot. It just happens to put you in the fins of the marine menace and the humans on the other side of the fence. The tongue in cheek writing and presentation helps make the task of devouring evil land mammals never really a shocking endeavor, too. It’s much more fun, to be honest than the game description leads one to believe at first.

For now, Maneater is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One for just $39.99 but the developer is planning to release a Nintendo Switch port sometime later this year.
