September 2015’s PS Plus games announced for PS4, PS3 and Vita

Including the first Vote to Play winner

With the first-ever Vote to Play ballot still in our rear-view mirrors, Sony today revealed the freebies that PlayStation Plus members will receive next month. Much like August’s lineup, four of September’s six titles will be available on PS4. Have a look at the entire list:

Grow Home (PS4): The winner of the inaugural Vote to Play election, Grow Home is a small Ubisoft team’s take on 3D platforming and procedural adventure. Colorful and lively, it sees protagonist BUD climb a particularly polygonal plant.

Super Time Force Ultra (PS4): Unabashedly retro and thematic to a fault, Super Time Force Ultra is a hectic 2D action game with a love for time manipulation. Its run-and-gun chaos is broken up by artful moments of strategy and puzzling.

Xeodrifter (PS4, PS Vita): Retro nostalgia is a hallmark of indie spirit, but even among independent devs Xeodrifter is a standout. It channels classics like Super Metroid and Mega Man, resulting in a familiar but fun 2D adventure.

Twisted Metal (PS3): The only PS3-exclusive giveaway of September, Twisted Metal is fairly self-explanatory. Think of arena combat with cars, a chorus of destruction and over-the-top weapons.

Teslagrad (PS4, PS3): Teslagrad’s hand-drawn aesthetic is its most striking quality, but its handling of puzzles and the 2D perspective is every bit as impressive.

La-Mulana Ex (PS Vita): Originally released on Steam, La-Mulana delivers a tough-as-nails 2D platformer for the modern age. In its Vita-minded Ex rerelease, the game streamlined its sometimes cumbersome systems without sacrificing its infamous difficulty.
