Shadow Arrives in Sonic Forces as Free Add-on With Three Levels

Sonic Forces is the next game in the Sonic series. After the release and excellent reviews of Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces holds the responsibility of being a competent 3D Sonic game. So far, the title includes custom characters (hello, Sonic OCs), A really cool bad guy, and a touch of classic Sonic to round it out. We knew the roster would include Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic, and a custom character, but today, Sonic's official Twitter showed us a new addition: Shadow.

Shadow will be a playable character in three levels. He'll be featured as a free Add-on to the game. The video below features him in a side-scrolling level, which is something Shadow isn't particularly known for, making this feel one part old, and one part new.

The Add-on, named Episode Shadow, will focus on the backstory between Shadow and the new antagonist, mentioned earlier, named Infinite. Besides the three levels specifically made for Shadow, the add-on also allows the ability to replay 10+ levels with Shadow.

Sonic Forces launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on November 7.
