Shadow of War Tops the Australia/New Zealand Sales Charts

Today, the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA) released the latest physical games sales numbers for Australia and New Zealand. For the week of October 15, the number one best-seller in both regions was Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

It's no huge surprise, given that it was a highly anticipated game by many, but also because New Zealand is pretty much real life Middle-earth. They did shoot the movies there, after all.

The other top five best-sellers in Australia include FIFA 18, The Evil Within 2, NBA 2K18 and WWE 2K18 in that order. In New Zealand, the line-up includes FIFA 18, NBA 2K18, Destiny 2 and WWE 2K18.

The full chart can be seen below. As usual, they only cover physical game sales, so no digital purchases are counted. The IGEA, unfortunately, also does not disclose specific sales numbers.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War definitely took fans for a ride. Our review of the game calls it "A perfect example of how to make a sequel."
