Checking back in nearly 24 hours after Series Director Yu Suzuki revealed that he had launched a crowdfunding campaign for Shenmue 3 on Kickstarter, the game has been fully funded with 31 days to go. The announcement was made through Sony's E3 conference and raised more than $750,000 within the hour it was announced.
It's a good thing Suzuki never gave up hope.
It looks as though using Sony's E3 event as a platform to share the game has been advantageous for the campaign, there are nearly 34,000 people backing the game and the number goes up every minute.
If the game continues to bring in more money we will see Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian subtitles be added to the game, a Rapport system, a skill tree, the Baisha Village expanded and five mini-games added to the game. The most expensive pledges to the game have been scooped up by four individuals that put $10,000 towards the game.
