After its surprise announcement during Sony's E3 2015 presser, it's probably fair to say that the magic of Shenmue 3's existence has worn off. Now, two years later we don't know much more now than we did then, and skipping E3 2017 after being a no show a year ago didn't help matters much. However, that's not to say that developer YS Net isn't hard at work on the game, we'd just like to see what they've been up to all this time.
According to a new post on the game's website, they will be doing just that in August at Gamescom 2017. They say that they are still working out the details, but the plan is to show the "newest movie clips, share the latest updates and even make some new announcements."
YS Net also revealed that the game is getting an updated title logo, which you can check out below:
They also showed off some concepts for additional characters:
A "Strong-willed girl."
A lady with curlers in her hair:
An old man with "lovely facial hair."
Gamescom 2017 runs from August 22nd through the 26th, so check back then for more on Shenmue 3.
