Shin Megami Tensei 4’s Apocalypse standalone is heading West this summer

Atlus today announced the Western 3DS release of Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse, the English version of Japan’s Shin Megami Tensei 4: Final.

Set in the same timeline as the original SMT4, Apocalypse stars a new protagonist who, in true SMT fashion, is killed by a demon and resurrected by a god. Apocalypse is a largely independent game, but does overlap with events, areas and demons from SMT4.

Apocalypse makes several additions to its predecessor, the most pertinent being a seven-partner cast which lets players further customize their party lineup beyond their three demon comrades. The game will also feature over 450 demons to fight and fuse, a record for the SMT series. Fusing demons will see the addition of skill affinities, allowing players to better tailor skill inheritance.

Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse will release this summer. An exact release date has not yet been provided.
