Sid Meier’s Beyond Earth proves that space isn’t the final frontier but the beginning

Alpha Centauri is calling. Do you pick up the phone, jump into a rocket, and conquer the god damn universe? I vote on this is a solid ‘yes.’ With a strong bias and love for the Civilization games, this game definitely catches my attention. Can Sid Meier do wrong?

Not a whole lot is known about Beyond Earth yet. While the trailer found above is interesting, it doesn’t show any game play. Will we be playing as an Earth Civ on an alien world? Will we be fighting off aliens, building new tech, while beating back Earth forces? I hope so. From the screenshots below, it seems quite possible. What do you think? Autumn of this year can’t come soon enough.
