SimCity coming to Mac on August 29

The Mac version of SimCity has been dated for August 29, 2013, Electronic Arts and Maxis confirmed today. The Mac version was expected to release next week on June 11, but was delayed because it was "not ready for primetime." Funny, that didn't stop the PC version from launching.

EA reminded us that SimCity is cross-platform compatible, meaning friends can play together regardless of their operating system preference. Additionally, those who previously purchased digital and boxed copies of SimCity for PC will automatically receive the Mac version for free.

Last month, Electronic Arts president Frank Gibeau called SimCity a "success," despite its rough launch. Do you agree?
