Skyrim 1.7 officially available on Steam, being submitted for PS3 and Xbox 360 certification

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 1.7 title update, after being in Beta last week, is now officially available for PC users via Steam.

Now live, all you must do is load up Skyrim on Steam and the update will be downloaded. The update provides general bug fixes related to new water shaders and dragon landings.

As for console players, the update will be submitted to Sony and Microsoft this week, according to Bethesda.

"As soon as it's available, we'll let you know," Bethesda promised.

Many of the bug fixes in the update are related to the Dawnguard Kinect-enabled dragon shouts. Meanwhile, for PS3 players, many features included in the 1.6 title update, including Mounted Combat, will be rolled into 1.7.

Below are the release notes for Skyrim update 1.7 relating to all platforms unless specified otherwise.

  • General memory and stability optimizations
  • Fixed crash related to new water shaders
  • Fixed rare crash related to dragon landings
  • Fixed logic error with loading screens from add-ons (Xbox 360)
  • Using vampiric grip and swimming no longer prevents swimming animation from playing afterwards
  • Improved recognition with Kinect voice commands (Xbox 360)
  • Kinect-enabled dragon language shouts for French, German, Italian and Spanish work properly (Xbox 360)
  • Fixed issue with Dawnguard Kinect-enabled dragon shouts for French, German, Italian and Spanish (Xbox 360)
  • Fixed issue with Dawnguard Kinect-enabled dragon shouts for French, German, Italian and Spanish (Xbox 360)

In related news, Bethesda's VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines also told fans that more Skyrim Dawnguard DLC info for PS3 and PC will BE "coming soon".
