Skyrim gets a discount and goes free-to-play on Steam this weekend

Hello raiding dungeons and never doing the main quest!

Yesterday, Bethesda revealed that they would support Steam's new feature that allows modders to charge for mods (or not, it's whatever you choose). Bethesda made it very clear that they wouldn't curate the mods and neither would Valve stating, "It was essential to us that our fans decide what they want to create, what they want to download, and what they want to charge."

The community support has come in conjuction with a free Skyrim weekend on Steam! From today until Monday, April 27 at 10 AM PSt/ 1PM EST you will be able to download Skyrim for free on your PC through Steam.

If you fall in love with the game (which you might), you can grab the game and it's DLC at a discounted price:

  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim $5
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition $13.59
  • Hearthfire (DLC) $2.49
  • Dawnguard (DLC) $7.49
  • Dragonborn (DLC) $7.49

Grab it on Steam here.

In case you were wonder "what kind of mods does Skyrim have?" There's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mod, a My Little Pony Mod and other ones that are actually really useful.
