Leading up to its release, Sniper: Ghost Warrior was looking like an intriguing addition to the FPS genre. After some dismal review scores, the game simply fell out of discussion. Today, though, City Interactive announced it has sold over 2 million copies of the titile.
The developer has already announced a sequel, so it wasn't extremely surprising that the game did well, but 2 million units surpassed what many expected it to sell. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is due out in 2012, and looks like it will be marked to a larger crowd than first anticipated.
"We are all very happy that we have reached the 2 million units milestone," said Marek Tymiński, CEO of City Interactive. "This builds a strong belief we can do even better with the sequel and other upcoming releases."
