Back in December of last year, Rockstar Games confirmed that Heists will be arriving in GTA Online — the online multiplayer portion of Grand Theft Auto 5 — in "early 2015." It was expected that they'd arrive alongside the PC release of the game. However, with today's announcement that GTA 5 has been delayed for PC until March, what does that mean for GTA Online Heists for console players?
Thankfully, not much.
Although Rockstar Games still couldn't provide an exact launch date, the developer did assure players that Online Heists "for consoles" will be launching "in the coming weeks ahead of the PC launch." So, expect them to arrive sometime between now and March 24th, the new release date of GTA 5 on PC.
As for the PC version, Rockstar maintains GTA Online Heists will be included at launch and that they will it will support up to 30 players as promised.
For those who haven't been keeping up with the emotional rollercoaster Rockstar has taken us on with GTA Online Heists, last month we finally got some solid details regarding how they'll work. According to the developer, these elaborate missions will require players to plan, prepare, and execute with perfect synergy, demanding tight communication and coordination. Online heists will allow for four-player co-op, with each player taking on specified roles at certain points in the mission to accomplish multiple objective's on the way to an epic finale. Should players successfully complete the heist, they will be rewarded handsomely.
