Social data claims Assassin’s Creed Origins and Microsoft owned E3 2017; Full breakdown here

We have the stats on which conferences were most popular, as well as which games were the most popular! Basically, E3 2017 was owned by Assassin's Creed Origins and Microsoft – but a lot more went into it.

Brandwatch tracked 2.7 million English-language mentions of E3 2017 between June 10th and June 13th to compile data on which games were the most mentioned, as well as which conferences reigned supreme.

According to the findings, Microsoft took 44% of all conference-related mentions, followed by Nintendo (15%), Sony (11%), Ubisoft (10%), (EA (10%), Bethesda (8%), and the PC Gaming Show (2%).

The data also showed which games were the most popular games from each conference. The list is based on mentions on social media of all the games that had extended trailers or mentions by speakers at each major conference, which omits some of Microsoft's announcements… But here's the top ten games that were mentioned in the appropriate order.

4. Anthem
5. Mario + Rabbids

7. Beyond Good & Evil 2

As far as each conference goes, here's the breakdown:

Men in Blazers during the EA presentation were quite a bit more popular than Madden 18, Battlefield 1, and nearly on the same level as Star Wars: Battlefront 2. All in all, Anthem and A Way Out were the most popular games at the event.

Microsoft's E3 2017 conference was highlighted by the appearance of Terry Crews for Crackdown 3 and how unimpressed people were with the Forza car. Ultimately Assassin's Creed Origins, Ori & the Will of the Wisps, Xbox One X, and Dragonball FighterZ were the top games.

As for Bethesda, Wolfenstein saw the biggest jump in interest, with Skyrim and Dishonored sharing the follow-up peaks.

Basically, Ubisoft's announcement of Beyond Good and Evil 2 killed everything else they had to show, but Mario + Rabbids was able to maintain the most sustained mentions and the comments on the Just Dance routine certainly caused a spike.

Sony's Spider-Man game was so hyped that people were excited for the game before it was even shown off. Shadow of the Colossus and Monster Hunter saw a huge spike too.

Metroid Prime 4 owned the Nintendo E3 2017 presentation, with Kirby and Super Mario Odyssey adding quite a bit in mentions. It appears as though when the conference was over quite a few people stuck around to talk about it (also, Rocket League*).
