SOE Live 2014: Legends PvE coming to DC Universe Online with new characters

DC Universe Online is getting Legends PvE, SOE announced. The developer revealed that they are putting in a new event-based mode that'll allow you to play existing content as a Legends character that you already own. Currently, you are only able to play PvE content as your custom character.

"So people that don't like PvP can now step into these Legends simulators to play as Batman or Joker or Superman, and group up for different combinations of lineups," said creative director Jens Andersen.

And what better way to celebrate this new mode then with brand new Legends characters. The first new Legend planned to release as part of Game Update 41 (this fall) is the Blue Lantern Kyle Rayner. Beyond him, SOE has plans to release Guy Gardner, fan-favorite Green Arrow, and Deathstroke.

"We've been waiting on Deathstroke until our weaponry mastery tech was done and able to be used on Legends characters," Andersen said. Weapon mastery allows you to switch weapons mid-combo.

After Deathstroke, DCUO will get Flash, Shazam, Black Adam, and Gorilla Grodd, in that intended order.
