Since it officially released in 2011 for the PC and in 2013 for the PlayStation 4, DC Universe Online has seen tons of accounts and characters created. Sometimes people create multiple characters one account and only ever play one of their three (or ten — I'm looking at you World of Warcraft) characters.
Like most games inundated with players, the names can be taken in a heartbeat – even worse…Names can be taken and then the characters can be abandoned.
Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) will be bringing this issue a solution by the end of the month. How? They will be reclaiming names starting January 20, 2015. If you haven't logged on to DCOU in the last 18 months (or since July 20, 2013) your character names are up for reclaiming. If your character is renamed you will be able to tell by seeing an underscore and Roman Numeral attached to your characters name.
There will be no other changes made to your account, your account and characters will not be deleted.
If you do not want your character's name to be changed log on to DCOU before January 20, 2015.
