H1Z1 is pretty barren when it comes to the zombie population right now. I spent hours running around the world and have found myself struggling to survive more against hunger and other people than I have against the creatures that started this post-apocalyptic mayhem. Looking to spice things up, Sony Online Entertainment is working to add not only more zombies to the game, but ones that are smarter also.
"…this is a huge priority," SOE president John Smedley said. "We're working hard on the server frame rate which is the underlying issue we're working on."
In addition to adding more zombies, SOE is also working on "tons of bug fixes," though he didn't go into specifics. Yesterday, they also brought up 200 EU servers to help alleviate the population. While I still had a queue when attempting to login, most server populations were "medium" as opposed to "high."
H1Z1 entered early access exactly one week ago and SOE has been releasing updates on a pretty rapid basis. Assuming they continue on this pace, new, smarter zombies should be coming soon.
