Green Lantern Corps isn't scheduled to release in theateres until 2020, but we already know that the film will feature both Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Actor names have been floating around recently on who should join the roles and we do have several names.
Yesterday, The Wrap reported that a source close to the studio informed them that their wish list for the role of Hal Jordan includes Tom Cruise, Jake Gyllenhall, Armie Hammer, Ryan Reynolds, Joel McHale and Bradley Cooper. Today, We Got This Covered also reported that James Marsden (Westworld) is also being discussed for the role. Of course, this is just a wish list right now and no one is really being considered over the other, but let's break down some of these name shall we?
First off, I don't see any chance Ryan Reynolds returns to the role in the first place. He's been critical of the role in the past, and his stardom has increased exponentially since his version of the Green Lantern that it doesn't seem plausible. Joel McHale seems to dislike nerd culture items, especially after his brief run in with The Game Awards. Bradley Cooper doesn't scream superhero role and it kind of seems like a move to grab star power rather than someone to fit the role.
Of course, none of these actors could end up being the role of Hal Jordan and we still have to fill the role of John Stewart as well. Let us know which actors you think would be right for the parts below.
