Some Old Fart Thinks Male Gamers Should Man Up

Your mission is to kill all the enemies and go through as many levels as you can, so that you can save the world. At first, you have only simple fighting movement, and the difficulty of enemies is low. After finishing levels, you get gold to buy bonuses which includes extra life, extra fighting move, armors which can protect yourself, henchmen who can help along the journey.

So it turns out that male gamers aren't real men. At least that's what William J. Bennett, a contributor for CNN wants people to think. In a recent post titled "Why men are in trouble," Bennett craps all over the male gender and blames everything on gaming.

According to the old goof, men these days are less educated than women, and they're less successful. To support these claims, Bennett mentioned how men have kids out of wedlock (so wouldn't that mean that the women who had those same children are having kids out of wedlock, too?), aren't finishing college, and don't get enough spiritual enlightment because they don't go to church. Interesting. Completely stupid, but interesting.

"The Founding Fathers believed, and the evidence still shows, that industriousness, marriage, and religion are a very important basis for male empowerment and achievement," wrote Bennett. "We may need to say to a number of our twenty-something men, 'Get off the video games five hours a day, get yourself together, get a challenging job, and get married.' It's time for men to man up."

No, it's time for Bennett to shut up. Seriously, this type of one-sided thinking is completely devoid of logic and hard facts. Gaming doesn't make men a poor excuse for their gender. It's all the other stuff women complain about like the cheating, and the lying, and the lack of attention. I kid! In all seriousness, though, Bennett attempted to make a controversial statement to get people talking, but in the end, he just came off as a total jackass.
