Pokemon Sun and Moon finally revealed themselves to the world last Friday, and while many trainers (including myself) have been scouring the tall grass the to build a team of the greatest Alolan Champions, some players appear to have hit a progress-killing glitch in regards to the game's save feature. Posts on both Reddit and NeoGAF point to a video from YouTuber Ray2R where they start up their game after saving in a Pokemon Center, only to find that their character's model fails to load and the game is permanently stuck in place.
Another user on Twitter, Styxiedust reported the exact same issue. Here is the tweet.
[ DO NOT SAVE IN POKECENTERS UNTIL GAMEFREAK PATCHES SUN/MOON ]
It can cause your player model to not load and ruin your save. #Pokemon

It's worth noting that this does not appear to be a widespread occurrence, and personally, I have had zero issues saving in Pokemon Centers to this point. Some viewers in the comments section of the YouTube video are claiming that Ray2R was using an unstable version of a hacking tool called PKHeX, which is entirely possible, but there's no way to know for sure. Also, Styxiedust's Twitter bio mentions having a "Doctorate in shitposting," so there is a potential for it to be fake.
That said, for someone to fake something like this, Styxiedust is engaging in a lot of back and forth with skeptics, so they are either A) telling the truth or B) have literally nothing better to do with their lives at this moment. I tend to lean towards the former but remain optimistic that his case is the exception rather than the rule.
Either way, it's good to be aware that this glitch is at least a possibility, but don't let yourself get too paranoid over it. Most players, as is the norm, have had zero issues with the game.
