Let's be honest, Sega has been underperforming when it comes to Sonic the Hedgehog. Sure, they have plans to release a 3D Sonic game at some point next year, but we've been burned by their new Sonic games before.
Sega is almost too busy trying to make Sonic an "entertainment icon" to take care of him in good games. Fortunately, the recently released procedurally generated game, No Man's Sky, is here to pick up the slack for Sega.
Whether or not you've been keeping up with the drama around No Man's Sky, it's still a good game if you're into tedious games. One No Man's Sky player visited a planet that was home to something that looked quite a bit like Sonic. Luckily, Redditor Thongsongmumu had the foresight to save a video clip of the Sonic-thing (and Mickey Mouse in the background) and share it with the world.
Maybe this is Sega's new game?
